The plague is ravaging Renaissance Florence.
A surreal dinner party sets the scene for a young woman to reckon with her murderous actions and her love for another woman.
The Heptameron is a loose adaptation of Giovanni Boccaccio's seminal 1353 work, The Decameron, following a group of party guests telling stories to distract themselves from the plague gripping their home town. We've retained Boccaccio's gossipy, salacious tone and celebration of Italian culture, but modernised the story to focus on Fiametta (Rachel Browne), as she navigates a world of uncertain alliances, burgeoning sexual freedom and Catholic guilt.

The Heptameron was shot onsite at Villa Godi Malinverni, a UNESCO world heritage site in Northern Italy, and is aiming for a film festival release in Q3 2020: you can follow along with the story on our dedicated Facebook page or Raunkiaer's other social media channels.

You can download our electronic press kit directly, or use this link to access the EPK and supporting files like behind-the-scenes images and stills from the film.
